Photo finish

When it comes to electronics, I am "still learning".  So gadgets of any kind present a learning challenge for me.  I have not yet learned how to print my own photos or order them from Snapfish or some other site.  I have, however, learned to take the little card to Walgreens and choose the pictures I would like printed.  I have yet to figure out how to crop, center or adjust any of these pictures and I have yet to figure out how to erase the pictures from the little card.  So imagine my dismay this evening when I stopped at Walgreens to print the last dozen or so pictures on the card of 342, only to discover that the Kiosk would not allow me to place my order after finding the few photos I wanted..  After several tries, I summoned the clerk who advised me  the equipment had broken earlier in the day and I would need to return another time.  I smiled and thanked her, cursing  under my breath and promising to get a new little blue card the next time I go to the photo department.--preferably at another Walgreens.

Tumbling Down

Over the years, I have teased my friends about their lack of "gracefulness".  My friend, Shirley, actually fell walking into Arrowhead stadium and broke her ankle.  My friend, Mary has completely wiped out in VIP seating at an outdoor concert after tripping over a ground wire.  My friend, Cindy, has significant problems with balance and grace.  I was so very glad they were not around to see me leaving my house on Monday morning.   It was dark as I headed out the back door with my coffee, lunch bag, work bag, a plastic shopping bag and my purse.  I caught my heel on the step and down I went--coffee spilling, phone flying and bags crunching (to say nothing of my bones!).  I was relieved to see that at least I had not ripped my pants but more so because my friends were not there to share the experience!

The eye of the beholder

This morning I decided to dress up and take a bit more time on my appearance.  I even applied eyeliner, which is something I never do.  I'm not so sure it was a good idea.  I am one of those people who wake up with bags under and above my eyes  (certainly not because I am old).  By mid morning I noticed that my neatly drawn liner was now visible half way between my lashes and my eyebrows...certainly not where I put it in the first place.

Lucky for me!

The weekend has been one long snowstorm--and it is only October 4!  It started Thursday night with pounding rain which eventually became snow.  My brother & sister-n-law were planning to spend the night in preparation for their son's Saturday wedding!  On Friday, roads were closed and we were pretty much snowed in.  Although they had a hotel reservation, they ended up spending the day and night.  No wedding rehearsal as planned.  When the power went out we watched a movie on the DVD player and called it an early night.  It continued to snow into the  morning, but that didn't stop my brother from starting the arduous process of shoveling out his car and thus the driveway!  It was an all day task, but he was persistent.  When the snow plow went by early this morning, he was back outside clearing the driveway to the street again!  Lucky for me they were here or I might never have gotten out of my garage.  At least, not until the 36 inches of snow melted.  Doubt seriously that they are feeling at all lucky since the wedding had to be postponed.
